Te Mānia
Three Brothers
Merlot Malbec Cabernet 2009
Te Mania Three Brothers is a classic blend of Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet. As well as this blend of three grape varieties, Three Brothers also owes its name to the three brothers in my family as well as the Three Brothers landmark very near where we live.
Nose: Blackcurrant and blackberry with some spicy, herbal and earthy notes.
Palate: Vibrant blackberry and blackcurrant fruit flavours with some subtle spicy oak and fine tannins.
Vintage: The grapes of our Three Brothers Bordeaux blend was hand harvested. The grapes were crushed and fermented in small open fermenters with regular hand plunging over the ferment period. The wine was then settled in tank before being racked to French and American barrels and then aged for 10 months prior to bottling.
Diet: suitable for vegan diets
Alcohol: 13%
Acidity: 5 g/L
"Nicely fruited and easy-going, this Bordeaux blend (Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc) displays dark plum, spice, dried herb and subtle cedar characters on the nose. It's rounded and medium-weight on the palate showing good fruit weight and gentle tannins leading to a pleasant dry finish. ««« ½ Stars, 84 points"
