Nelson Riesling 2011
When young our Riesling produces fresh, lively wines which are great for relaxed summertime drinking; however this wine also has a wonderful ability to age, allowing a wider spectrum of flavours to unfold.
Nose: Honeysuckle and citrus/lime characters on the nose with some underlying mineral notes.
Palate: The citrus characters follow through onto the palate with rich lime and citrus fruit flavours, some delicious honey notes and a mineral background and a long fresh finish.
Vintage: Fruit was hand harvested with the grapes being whole bunch pressed and the juice cool fermented to preserve primary fruit characters. A small amount of residual sugar was retained to provide balance to the natural fruit acids.
Diet: Suitable for vegan diet.
Alcohol: 13.0%
Residual Sugar: 9 gms/L
Acidity: 7.5 gms/L
This has a very fine, tight, steely and delicate nose of lime fruits, apples and minerals with nuances of herbs. Off-dry to taste, bright, lime and green apple flavours are enhanced by notes of jasmine, the fruit showing lovely purity and a very fine and cutting line through the palate. Lacy acidity adds to the finesse and drives the flavours to a long, lingering, subtly nuanced finish. A very tight, pure and delicate Riesling to serve as an aperitif and with Asian cuisine over the next 4-6 years. «««« Stars- Raymond Chan
An elegantly poised Riesling showing gentle aromas of apple, lemon/lime and floral. The palate is juicy and pristine with subtle sweetness and bright acidity providing a lovely frame and a crisp finish. A lovely restrained Riesling with excellent structure, destined to develop greater intensity. «««« Stars

Winemaker Steve Gill offers a delightfully dry Riesling. It has a pear-floral nose,a smooth stonefruit taste and a nicely balanced, citrus finish. Most agreeable with lightly spiced prawns.
