Te Mānia
Nelson Pinot Noir 2008
Te Mānia Pinot Noir is made in an elegant appealing style which can be enjoyed when young but will also benefit from a little cellaring allowing it to develop more complex characters.
Nose: Appealing blackberry, plum and dark cherry fruits combine with savoury, spicy aromas.
Palate: Sweet red cherry, plum and dark berry fruit characters intermingle with spicy oak. Savoury, gamey flavours with hints of leather balanced with elegant tannins add complexity to this wine which delivers a long sustained finish. This wine will continue to develop complexity over the next couple of years.
Vintage: A range of Pinot Noir clones, harvested from 4 vineyard sites within the Nelson region. Each of the sites differs in soil type and structure adding interest and complexity of ‘terroir’. Crushed and put into open fermenters then inoculated and plunged by hand while fermenting. After ferment the wine was left on skins before being pressed, settled and racked to tank. The wine was then aged in oak and blended after 8 months in prior to bottling.
Alcohol: 14%
Acidity: 4.7 g/L
